NIO recently announced that its flagship model NIO EL8 (known as ES8 in China) is officially launched in Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark, starting at 94,900 euros. This high-profile SUV is NIO’s sixth model launched in the European market after ET7, ET5, EL6, EL7 and ET5T.
Taking the German market as an example, the NIO EL8 75 kWh version is priced at 94,900 euros (about RMB 737,000), while the 100 kWh version is 103,900 euros (about RMB 806,800). Compared with the domestic version ES8, the EL8 is basically the same in design and configuration, equipped with hidden door handles, watchtower lidar and multiple high definition cameras. The body size is 5099/1989/1750mm, and the wheelbase reaches 3070mm. It offers 5 paint options, but it lacks the domestic Antarctic star blue, aerospace blue and star gray colors.
In terms of power, the NIO EL8 is equipped with a front and rear dual-motor four-wheel drive system, with a combined power of 480 kW and a peak torque of 850 Nm. In addition, it is also equipped with a dual-cavity air suspension, CDC dynamic damping control system and Bosch IPB intelligent braking system. The 75 kWh version of the WLTP has a range of 390 kilometers, and the 100 kWh version has a range of 510 kilometers, which can meet the diverse needs of users.
In 2023, NIO’s cumulative sales in the European market reached 2,399 vehicles, demonstrating its competitiveness in the high-end electric vehicle market. NIO has laid out an extensive charging and swapping network in Europe, and currently has 43 swapping stations, 45 supercharging piles, and more than 600,000 third-party charging piles, providing a strong follow-up guarantee.
The launch of the NIO EL8 in five European countries is not only an important step in NIO’s globalization strategy, but also demonstrates its technical strength and market appeal in the field of smart electric vehicles.
